Guild Wars 2 has a lot of options on how to play, from the race of your character to the class/profession you choose for it. There are nine classes you can choose from when you first start a
Guild Wars 2 has twisted open Quintin's genre fatigue like a rich man presented with a cheap lobster. I'm gorging myself on the chocolate box that is Guild Wars 2's races, classes and starting Guild Wars 2 Best Class - What's the Best Class to Play? Let’s put it this way: each profession has its own pros and cons, whether you play PvE or PvP / WvW, all of them have something to offer. It is not like you are limited to only one profession, right? The Shiverpeaks, Hunting Ground of the Norn in Guild Wars 2 The norn are a valiant race of huge, shape-shifting barbarians that hail from the frozen north. Strong-willed, passionate, and brave to a fault, the fiercely independent norn swear fealty to no single being. Races. The first choice you’ll make when creating a character is picking your race. There are 5 playable races in Guild Wars 2 and unlike in other MMORPGs, your race and profession combination doesn’t matter when it comes to combat efficiency. There are some racial skills but these are worse than those offered by your profession. So: Grawl, Hylek, Ogre, Quaggan, Skritt, Nuhoch, Itzel, Exalted, Awaken, Dwarves, Mursaat, Seers, Centaurs, and Krait, don't really work as playable races. Tengu are probably the best option for a new playable race. Kodan and Largos would be awesome, but then you have to find a way around the Kodan Combat Tonic and the Largos Wings Backpiece. Learn about the five main races of Tyria: humans, norn, charr, asura, and sylvari, and how to create and customize your character from them. Explore their unique features, histories, and cultures in the game Guild Wars 2. Notice, that this is only when we consider the already existing classes. Norn for example have shamans, but that should be a separate class. Asura utilize magic too, but, again, in ways that are not generally represented well by already existing classes. Sylvari firstborn are magical and physical powerhouses well beyond what their class should
Sylvari Guardian. Any gender. I like the idea of a tree that throws around fire. It's ironic. Asura Ranger. Any gender. Taming an animal is a much bigger deal when they're much bigger than you. When any other race tames a wolf, it's tuesday, but when an Asura tames a wolf it is an epic triumph over a monstrous beast. Female Norn Mesmer.
Alway female asura on all classes and especially in WvW/PvP, because Female asura is the only one screaming Your dumb, when you die you leave a dumb corps. And that is why fell in love with Asura :D. I wanted this one to be male, but this line is indeed great! Asura. Asura: engineer fits this race thematically the best since Asura are all about technology and golem suits, but any of the other professions are fine too. Norn: ranger, warrior, guardian, and revenant fit the theme of the Norn the best imo. They’re all about communing with the spirits of the wild, nature and balance.
The first reason this would be difficult to do properly is that Guild Wars 2 is and always has been the story of the Pact Commander and all their amazing feats (Dragon killing etc.). If you introduce the Tengu for example you would have to do one of two things - 1.
Mesmer and Guardian are bad fits for the Charr, who like to be a bit more straight-forward. Norn - Warrior, Guardian, and Ranger are good fits. Necromancer is a bad fit, as Norn tend not to care about or think about death very often. Sylvari - Ranger and Elementalist are good fits, as they are the most attuned to nature.
