My engine has similar problems to the ones you were outlining to Angelos. On tickover it sounds as if a piece of paper is attached to the fan belt. I queried this with the mechanic who fitted the engine and he just said spray it with some lubricant - which I have not done. To me the S-type diesel had much better lift when moving in traffic. Of course petrol/diesel have quite different characteristics, and now I have a late 2.7 at sensible s/h money, I find it a very reassuring, unfussy, most competent drive, and without that high rev petrol scream when accelerating flat out.
I bought my 2011 3l xf about 15months ago ever since I bought it the amber DPF full light comes on between 250 and 800 miles everytime it averages approx 400 mile. I do a fair amount of distance driving with a mixture of round town. Once illuminated take it for a 60 mph run for a while and it clears.
I have a 55 reg diesel bought. in November last year - I had it serviced by main agent at. 45K miles and all was well until about four weks ago when. after driving about 15 miles the warning light comes on and. Restricted Performance appears on the display - performance. drops off. zGI3u.
