Yes there is a toggle option for the shield. You find it in the menu where you can customize your controls. It's not particularly useful though because there must be at least a dozen reasons why Bayek may drop the shield in combat and you need to "toggle" it again . Bloody_Beans • 5 yr. ago.

UnlikeAssassin’s Creed Origins, your character in Odyssey cannot equip a shield. In fact you never get a shield at all throughout the game, despite many enemies carrying them.

Rinraiden6 years ago #2. There is a way, but I'm not sure how. For me, it randomly appeared in my inventory oneday. No idea how. Must've picked up some loot underwater without knowing it. As for the cover shield, you get it from the quest "Plight of the Rebels". It's a level 40 quest, so you probably won't get it until the game is basically over.
