Failure Date: 02/20/2018. Tl-the contact owns a 2013 Mazda Mazda6. The contact stated that the driver's side rear view mirror was frosted over. The contact stated that it was very difficult to see approaching vehicle. The vehicle was taken browns Mazda located at 5625 central Ave, toledo, OH 43615, (419)531-0151, to be inspected.
The installed it to find that it did NOT fix the problem. Switched wiper motors. Did not fix problem. Switched BCM, did NOT fix problem. Now they say they are running tests on the wiring. Evidently they can get the wipers to work on intermittent through their shops computer but cant get them to work any way at all within the car itself.
Check the fuse assembly under the dashboard of the car. Replacing a blown fuse might fix the problem of windshield wipers not working. Our 2009 Mazda has the auto/variable intermittent wipers & these do not work like standard VIW. Turning the variable dial does not change the duration of the intermittent wipers like standard VIW. It changes the sensitivity of the rain sensor on the windshield. IMO, the variable function does not work that well.
When there is nothing on the wind shield the receptor picks up the infra red wave and nothing happens but when something like rain hits the windscreen, due to refraction the wave changes path and does not hit the sensor which detects the abnormality and activates the wipers. Fuse nr.31, F31, (25A) = Windscreen wipers This fuse is placed on fuse box / relay plate engine bay 1, under bonnet in engine compartment area! If the fuse F31 is OK. You must diagnose why windscreen wipers going slow and/or stopping. KHT6.
