This can also happen on the highway or when down shifting into a stop sign except the RPMs will drop to 0 and the bike will stall. Other times when accelerating the bike will start chugging dramatically as if it is losing power or running out of gas. Stalling is certainly the most common of these symptoms.
I had three separate instances of stalling with my 690. The first was a nearly broken wire on my aftermarket kickstand cutout switch causing random stalling while riding. The second was a cracked ceramic insulator on my sparkplug causing it to ground out instead of the spark reaching the cylinder.

So I’ve narrowed it down to the KTM 690 Enduro R, Husqvarna 701 Enduro and the AJP PR7. With the KTM and Husqvarna, I’d look to get the Rade Garage Rally kit with the additional tank under the seat. With the AJP it sounds like I’d need to change the suspension give the Sachs issues.
